Milani Haul!!!!

I'm not sure if you guys have heard yet, but CVS is having a major sale on Milani cosmetics. Apparently they are getting rid of the old and bringing in the new. Most of their cosmetics are now 75% off. I stopped by this weekend and picked up a few things. Unfortunately, the one thing I really wanted they didn't have which was the Liquif'eye eyeliner in black and the backed bronzer in Golden. But isn't it always that way? *shrugs* Anywho, here are the things I did purchase.

Milani Mineral Blush in Sweet Rose and Sunset Beach

Here are swatches. Sunset Beach on top and Sweet Rose on the bottom:

I already owned a Milani Mineral Blush in Sunset Beach. I can say that I absolutely love this blush. It is very pigmented and a little goes a long way. It blends pretty easily and isn't at all chalky. It is a matte blush that has no shimmer but it still gives a nice glow to your cheeks. As I said, it is really pigmented so you need to be careful when applying it.

Lipstick in Berry Rich

Below swatch of Eye Tech Liquid Liner in Charcoal, Lip Mixer Gloss in Lip Mingle, and Berry Rich Lipstick:

This sale is going on in all CVS stores in the US. So ladies be sure that you go out and get a few things. More than likely I will be hitting up a few more stores to see if they have the things I really wanted. Let me know what you guys bought. Happy Shopping!

Do The Twist

So I finally did a successful twist out on my hair. On my hair journey for healthier and longer hair I have been experimenting with different protective styles to keep from using heat on my hair. This is the third twist out I've done. The first time It was a little too tight and I ended up pulling it up into a high bun. The second time I didn't let it dry completely in the back so It was very frizzy in some areas, puffy in some areas, and no curl pattern in other areas. A mess! I guess the third time is the charm, huh! :)

If you would like to try a twist out on your hair the steps are listed below:

1. Cowash your hair using any conditioner you would like. Be sure to concentrate the conditioner on your scalp.

2. Deep Condition! I used Aussie Moist 3 Minute Miracle (one of my fav deep conditioners) and Coconut Oil. I used the Coconut Oil first and made sure to saturate my ends and oiled my scalp with it as well. I used the Aussie on the length of my hair. I then put a plastic cap on my head and let it sit for 3-4 hours. I would recommend letting it sit on your hair for at least an hour.

3. Rinse the conditioner out of your hair using first warm then cool water. Be sure to thoroughly detangle your hair using either your fingers or a wide tooth comb while rinsing the conditioner out. This will prevent any tangles during the next step.

4. Put a leave in conditioner on your hair. I like to use Loreal's Ever Sleek Humidity Defying Leave In. Part hair into four sections. Two sections in the back and one on each side of your head. Twist your hair downward onto your scalp. Add a natural oil to the ends once you are finished to prevent frizz.

5. Put a satin or silk bonnet on and let your hair air dry overnight. Untwist in the morning and finger through it until you achieve the fullness you like.

MAC Matchmaster Review

I recently bought this foundation because my Revlon Photoready ran out. I really liked that foundation outside of the slight glittery finish to it. I went to MAC to try out a foundation. I bought the Pro Longwear first in I think NC 50. Or maybe NW 44-45. I thought I liked it until it oxidized after wearing it for about an hour or two. It looked like I was wearing a mask. I liked the finish but the color just looked awful so I returned it. I went back and purchased the Matchmaster in 7.5. I had a hard time choosing between that and the 7.0 inside of the store. I went with the 7.5 got it home and swatched in on my hand and it appeared really dark so I thought about exchanging it for the 7.0. Then I tried in on my face and blended it out really well. It was the perfect match. I guess the technology of the translucent powders adjusted to my skin tone and matched up really nicely. This does look alot like your skin but better. Its light enough to not feel like you have anything on but moderate enough to cover your small imperfections. What I like best is that it does not oxidize and turn too red, orange, or yellow. My skin tone is mostly neutral but has a slight yellow undertone. So most of the MAC foundations do not look good on me. And the SPF in it does not give you that awful gray cast look in photos. My skin tends to get oily throughout the day and this keeps the oil at bay. Overall I like this foundation and would recommend it to people that have oily skin.

I wore the foundation today to my interview with MAC. I will make a second post on the all of the products I used in another post. Here is a picture of me in the foundation:

What's On My Nails?

Over the weekend I made a routine stop at the MAC counter and the MUA had a gorgeous color on her nails. I had to have it! Dolls and Gents this is Oyster Shell. I purchased this for $15.00. I know, a wee bit expensive but oh well. Divide that amount by the number of times you'll wear it and it's super cheap! Lol. MAC describes the color as a light stone grey which is exactly what it is. It is a cream so it has no metallic or glitter. The wear of this polish is also pretty fab. I had been wearing it for 3-4 days without a top coat and only one of my nails was barely chipped on the edge. Keep in mind that I work on a computer type, type, typing away all day. Personally I like this color alot.

Yes to Cucumbers Review

This review is for the Yes To Cucumbers Facial Towelettes. The first thing I will say is that I absolutely L-O-V-E these! I have used many different brands of makeup remover towelettes/wipes and these are by far my fav. So here is the rundown on these:
* 3 in 1wipe to cleanse, remove makeup, and nourish the skin
* Designed for sensitive skin
* Dermatologically and opthamologically tested
* Oil free, non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic
* Alcohol-free
* Biodegradable, natural cloth
* Enriched with green tea
        I can say that these do everything they say, all while smelling ammmmmaaaazing. One towelette removes all of my makeup efficiently. Unlike some wipes on the market they do not leave an oily/slimy residue behind. My face feels nice, clean, and refreshed after use. Not at all dry. And did I say they smell great?! LOl, like a nice cool cucumber. I would recommend sticking them in the refrigerator for an even more refreshing experience.
       Last, but not least, I like the way these are packaged. They have a lid that flips open and snaps closed. For extra security there is a resealable sticker to keep the wipes from drying out. I purchased these from my local Walgreens for $5.99 which will get you 30 towelettes.
